Why StreetDoctors?
My whole career has been about prevention and root-cause work with young people, helping them build the skills and confidence to stay safe before harm happens. StreetDoctors does exactly that, and I love how it puts young people at the centre of the solution, not framing them as the problem. I’m excited to bring what I’ve learned from national programme delivery to a cause I care deeply about.
What’s your background?
I have previously studied and graduated with a degree in Youth and Community Work (BA) from Cardiff Metropolitan University. Throughout my studies I undertook two placements; one within a local authority youth service and one within a voluntary sector organisation which gave me the opportunity to support young people from a wide range of backgrounds, contexts and life experiences.
What are your interests outside of work?
I love watching films and try to go to the cinema at least once a week. I will watch any genre and used to be the president of the animated film society whilst in university. I also love being creative and at least half of my earring collection is handmade.
